White Sunday by Mikayla

White Sunday is a celebration celebrated mostly in Samoa, also in different countries.

Firstly we put on our white clothing and leis. Then the boys line up smallest to tallest, then the girls do the same.
Once all the parents are inside the church sitting down the children start to sing songs and walk onto the stage.

After they have finished singing the samoan songs we do a group dance. Then the children say their pesies. The little kids go first then the older ones.

Next we do a family dance and speech, and some kids play their instruments.

After church the boys go outside and play rugby league while the girls colect leaves and stones for the Umu.

The Adults dig a deep hole in the ground for the Umu.
While we’re waiting for the food to cook the minister says a long chapter from the bible and we carry on with the chapter.

When the food is ready the kids wash their hands and wait for their food. Then once everybody has eaten the adults serve the kids icecream and pudding.

Then people start to go home. A few days later some families have a family reunion in different countries.
